Second Grade Lessons
What a wonderful start to the 2018-2019 school year. The Second grade students have learned about our classroom procedures and begun their journey to becoming great students.
Whose Job Is It Anyway?
Second grade had a fun time brainstorming people who work in our school. Our list included our principals, teachers, cafeteria staff, custodians, bus drivers, secretaries and of course Mrs. Traci. The students then listed the job responsibilities of each. What a great way to learn about their jobs. Since the students have been with me for the past two years it was fun to hear what a school counselor and the other jobs do during the day. Our list included
1. getting us to and from school safe - bus drivers.
2. answering the phone and door, getting our forgotten items to us - secretaries
3. watching the cameras, making sure the teachers are teaching - principals
4. cooking for us - cafeteria
5. cleaning up after us, keeping school looking great - custodians
6. teaching us reading and math - teachers
7. helping us be come good students, friendship skills, talking to us when upset/mad - Mrs. Traci

What Shoes will YOU wear?
Yes, they are just Kids and they don't know what they want to be when they grow up. Career Awareness is very important in the early elementary grades. Students learn the importance of "soft skills" as well as what jobs match their interest.
