Meet Mrs. Traci Tate
I am very please to begin my twelfth year working with the children at South Gibson County Elementary School. I graduated from Dresden High School. I received my Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from University of Tennessee at Martin in 1994. I taught high school science for nine years before entering into the counseling field. I earned my Master's degree in School Counseling in 2004 from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Before coming to Medina, I was the school counselor for three years with a local middle school. I am an active member of the American Counseling Association, American School Counselors Association, Tennessee School Counselors Association (TSCA), Tennessee Counselor Association, and Martha Polk Chapter of TCA. I am a Past President of the Tennessee Counselor Association. I also served two years on the Tennessee Department of Education's School Counselor Advisory Committee. I was awarded Elementary School Counselor of the Year from the Tennessee School Counselor Association in November 2009. I am happily married to Bill and we have two children, Mary and Marshall. I am also involved with several local organizations and serve in various leadership roles. I look forward to working with the students of SGC Elementary School and to creating a counseling environment that will guide our children to make the best decisions possible. |
